Over 30 companies eye Danube Bridge II infrastructure contract Over 30 companies are interested in the contract for the construction of the infrastructure in the area of Danube Bridge II, Vidin regional governor Krastio Spasov was quoted as saying Monday by news agency BTA. The candidate contractors will tour the future construction sites on Tuesday. The documents for participation in the tender will be on sale until May 21. They should be ready with their offers by the fall, said Spasov.
The Bulgarian regional development ministry is expected to issue the necessary building permit by the end of April, clearing the way to break ground for the new bridge by the end of May, said the regional governor. Spains FCC will build the facility at Vidin-Calafat while Franco-British consortium Ingerop/Highpoint Rendel will act as site supervisor. The 2 km four-lane facility should be launched by 2009.
