1 bln levs budgeted for road improvement in 2008

Some 1 bln levs will be invested in the national road infrastructure in 2008, said Veselin Georgiev, director of the national road infrastructure fund. The resource will comprise funding from the state budget, EUs transport and regional development operative programs and the World Bank.Allocations for road repairs have also been made from the 2007 budget revenue overperformance. The government has approved the spending of 243 mln levs for this purposes from the budget surplus.
